Volunteer - "Make a Difference, Make a Friend!”
Welcome to the Arc’s Volunteer Services, "Make a Difference, Make a Friend!" If you are an individual that wants to volunteer, we have many different ways for you to do so! If you are an Arc family that would like to include volunteers in your life, there are many ways to do that too!
Please take a look at the following programs and contact Susan Paul, Director of Volunteer Services, 919-942-5119, ext. 111, or spaul@arcoforange.org.
Community Connections Program is a special friendship that results when a volunteer is matched with an adult with a developmental disability. Together they form a community partnership spending a few hours each month exploring activities they both enjoy, eating out, going to the movies, playing sports. If you are over 18, and are interested in becoming a friend, please contact me! As well, if you are an Arc family and would like to include a Connections Partner in your life, please contact me as well!
The Arc’s Spin and Weight Training Class meets each week, Wednesdays Weight Training and Thursdays Spin from 1:00 pm till 2:00 pm at the UNC Health and Wellness Fitness Center in Meadowmont. Another afternoon Spin class will be added from 4:00 – 5:00 pm beginning in May, 2009. The goal of these classes is to increase each participant’s overall health and well-being.
